It wasn't half bad in practice, either. If you tend to look at WWE's "seasons" as running from the Draft to Mania, this one came off probably the worst year they ever had though, so that kinda counteracted it. But it was a short-list great Mania, IMO.

I find it amusing that he thinks that Melina would have gotten the spot if not for Trish. At the time, there was like six other divas ahead of her in the pecking order.

I'm pretty sure Austin went on record and said he had no problem jobbing to Lesnar, he had a problem that it was going to be on a random Raw and not a build up to a big time PPV and in this case I 100% agree with Austin, that would of been a total wasted opportunity.

Also Taker putting over Punk????? REALLY.... He killed his heat dead, he went from the hottest heel in 2009 to midcarder again due to Taker treating him like an after thought... a lousy montreal screw job type loss to Punk did nothing for him, and in the following months he squashed him like a bug.

Scott at times you do really show your lack of knowledge on recent history, but I guess that is what happens when you distance yourself from the product, which I can't blame you at all... due to more important issues like raising a family and WWE sucking pretty bad for a good while. Though I wish sometimes I wish you'd acknowledge you're not the best person to answer these questions in relation to recent stuff.

Yup, the build of Batista-Cena rocked. Especially that one promo of Batista's where he says something like, "I'm about winning titles and making money and you shake hands and kiss fat girls".

Didn't the injury happen when Cena tackled Miz through the barrier onto the concrete? I'm not sure what Cena could have done to protect him in that case. It was a dangerous (but not unusual) spot, but it wasn't anybody's fault.

A lot of people give Orton credit for Barrett this year, and I just don't see it. Did Barrett win a single match in their feud? Or at least a "big" match? I seem to recall Orton dominating the feud when the matches actually came about.

I thought this WM would have done the biggest buy of all time. I really did.

I mean, on paper, there wasn't anymore you could ask for. You had the epic rematch between Taker & Shawn, same with Cena & Batista who had a great build with SummerSlam, and this is building off of that, then you had Jericho & Edge, which I have at 5 stars. Then you also had Vince & Bret, which is truly something no one ever thought we'd see. I just thought on paper, this was the greatest WM of all time.

There's an interview with Trish Stratus where she talks about how John Morrison deliberately avoided hugging her after the match. Knowing that, it's actually really funny watching their post-match celebration. Everytime Trish comes near Morrison, you see him not-so-slickly find SOME reason to go to the opposite side. Pretty funny.

Also, I know (assume?) you were being tongue in cheek, but there were a lot of people who had an issue with Edge and Christian vandalizing ADR's car after they had won the match. I don't get that. ADR spent months violently attacking both Edge and Christian (he even put Christian on the shelf for several months, storyline wise). After all of that, in the realm of wrestling logic, I think he certainly deserved to have his pride and joy destroyed (despite the outcome). It's like when people got all upset that John Cena dropped all those chairs on Wade Barrett....conveniently forgetting that Barrett made his life hell for months prior to that.

actually I was talking about dickhead comments, nothing to do with a fake sport. You were the one deriding somebody for wanting to see a match that was "gauranteed to be terrible". So you were actually the one commenting on the fake sport and the quality of a match therein.

I was reading some comments about Hulk v Shawn, and I've always wondered about what kind of money Hogan has made in his career.

What do you guys think he made for his match against Shawn at SummerSlam? How about his match against Rock?

I've also wondered what his payday was for WMIII.

I know he was making CRAZY money at WCW, with a contract that'll probably never be beat.

and even if he didn't elevate Edge (which he didn't need to do because Edge was already a main event guy in 2008) he didn't do the opposite as well. Edge looked just as good against the Undertaker than he did against other top babyfaces like Batista or Cena.
